Why Do I Need Milestone Portraits? | Pearland Baby Photographer
They'll Never Be This Small Again
Your child's life is broken up into many milestones from the day they're born to the day they turn one. I love to capture just a few specific times over their first year to create a picture of their growth journey. Newborn portraits within the first two weeks of life, Milestone Portraits when baby is around three months old and smiling, Sitter Portraits when baby is sitting by themselves, and first birthday portraits. Grouping your baby's journey into four specific units like this documents their ever changing features during their whole first year.
The Smiles
Babies grow unbelievably quickly! You blink and suddenly they take off running, making three months an amazing time for milestone portraits. When a baby is three months old the huge toothless grins have set in and begun capturing your heart. These smiles deserve to frozen in time and captivating the viewer for years to come.
The Posing
When a baby is three months they can hold their head up, make direct eye contact, and prop up on their arms when placed on their tummy. This makes for such an amazing pose that separates these images from their newborn photos. It shows off their new skills and gives you a picture of how much they have grown in just a few shot months.
Parental Inclusion
I LOVE adding parents into milestone shots. It's such a beautiful thing for your child to be able to look back on when they're grown. There are plenty of ways to include parents but one of my favorites is through adding hands in the image, showing the size comparison.
The Details
Photographing the sweet little details of a three month olds body makes for adorable images! You'll never want to forget how small their hand, ears, and feet were. These pictures make for such an artistic addition to any gallery!
